In terms of hardness, alumina ceramics are harder than mullite ceramics, but both are hard enough to prevent damage during use.

In terms of corrosion resistance, although mullite ceramics are acid resistant, they are not alkali resistant; The acid and alkali resistance of alumina ceramics are all first-class, but for floor tiles, the corrosion resistance of alumina ceramics is too high and unnecessary. The sintering temperature of mullite ceramics is relatively low, so the cost is low.

In terms of heat shock resistance, comparisons were also made, and the results showed that the heat shock resistance of mullite ceramics was higher than that of alumina ceramics; Similarly, the high-temperature creep of mullite ceramics is higher than that of alumina, so mullite can withstand higher weight at high temperatures, while alumina ceramics are slightly inferior.

In addition, the difference between alumina ceramics and mullite ceramics is also reflected in their resistance. It is obvious that alumina ceramics have a higher resistance than mullite ceramics, which is also the main reason for choosing alumina ceramics as high-voltage insulator materials.
